Message: Dodge began building crew cabs in its own plants in 1963 which was an industry first. Prior to this time the company had crew cabs built by outside conversion firms.

Message: I'm 79 yrs. young and worked for ford motor co for 35 yrs. I retired 10 yrs ago after my 1st retirement 5yrs earlier. All of that to say I like ford, but IH (international harvester) is the first to come out with a production (not many) crew-cab, offered three doors, and few years later full four, called it a "crushy", used for the logging industry. 4x4, short bed, could get past a toothless old brod in the back hills yeilding a shotgun and if could do that it can do just about anything.

Message: I have a 1965 ford 250 with 4 full size doors. It was built for the forestry. Dearborn tells me that was Fords first year and only 500 cabs were turned into pickup walkthrough vans and 4 doors. Mine came with a stepside bed but I put on a utility bed. It has a new 390 and is for sale for 4000.00
