 Subject: What Kind of Pets?

Okay, so it's one in the morning & maybe this is a sappy post... but what kind of pets do you guys have? I have two demented dog-like siamese cats & a very large, slightly overweight Belgian/thoroughbred horse. I gotta admit I have a soft spot for guys in trucks with a great dog.

All saved from difficult circumstances.
I have a particular soft spot for ANYONE who doesn't carry their dog(s) in an open pickup bed.
You really never learn how to swear until you learn to drive...

I have a dog,part Black lab, part ???, and all lazy!! I had her in the truck once(in the Cab)and spent the rest of the day cleaning out dog hair! She rides in the car now.
The first thing we did after buying our house,is get her.Dogs are great!

I've got two a collie/terrier mix and a collie/ shepard mix both from the humane society.And they do wear their safety harnesses and sunglasses when we go cruising in the droptop. I got the DAK
extended cab so they can go camping with us.

Clement, the 16 lb orange tabby cat. Very doglike at home (comes when you call him is at your side when you go anywhere, would rather be on your lap than anywhere) Got him Last year at the Humane Society. He's about seven. All the other cats were pawing the cages to get your attention. Clement jus' kinda sat back and watched the goings on. One of the workers goes, "He's been with use a long time, he's the next to GO."-we took him.

I have an iguana. Baby is reaching 3 feet. Ohh, and right now I have my mothers dog. The fluffiest pom i have ever seen. Shes a cutie too, till she starts hacking at you. Heh. Shes going on 9 this year. Poor baby has arthritis too.

I used to have a siamese , Kato (the older brother of the two I have now) who used to fetch. He also used to come running when I whistled and held the car door open for him. Loved going for rides, especially if we ended up going out on the horse, he'd tag along like a small dog.

I have Border Collie and two cats, one that's all black one with yellow eyes, and a calico with no tail. Used to have two rabbits, too, but they died while I was in college.
Oh yeah...have a pet Dakota too!

I've got a small spider that has taken up residence in my bathroom, and I have some ants on the patio. The ants are outdoor ants...not allowed in the house. I also have a couple of frogs and a lizard that occasionally stick themselves to the outside of my sliding glass door. They eat my ants and the frogs poop on the patio.

The female is about between 2 and 3 years old(cant remember exactly, sorry) and is dark brindle except for a white patch on her chest. She weighs about 40-45lbs. and they said she was the runt of that litter. The male is exactly one year younger and was in the following litter. He is light brindle color with big patches of white all over and white front legs. He weighs 75-80lbs and was the runt of that litter. They say all white boxer are undesireable but I like how they look. They are both pretty short compared to some others I have seen.

I currently have 4 house rabbits. 3 girls and 1 boy. All very sweet and loving except 1 girl. For some reason she doedn't like me and she attacks me when I go near her. Oh well...

1 1yr old Golden Retriever ([NABOO]...yes..from Star Wars)
1 10 yr old Quarter/Appalussa (sp?) [SUNDANCE]
3 Goats
and a handfull of cats

Alright!!! Another horse person! My guy is Redford... a 1300 Belgian/Thoro. I did cross country jumping and foxhunting with him for 9 years, what a blast! He could jump over the bed of my dak, no problem.
There are several goats in my sister's barn. The mummies are great, and the babies are so cuuuuuute.... but the billies! Arrrrgh! Blechhhh! Miniature billies, the trolls of the animal world, they smell like... I don't know what, ripe mutton. Disgusting!

Yaa.. i grew up on the farm. I loved it. Always loved horses. Have had several. Used to go out a round up the cattle next door when they got loose and started strolling down the streets. Not bad for a 10 yr old (at the time) rounding up cattle!!!
As for goats...well...yes. SOME males do smell quite "ripe"...but the ones I have are de-horned and castrated, which elimates the smell.
And I notice your awaiting installation of some JBA headers huh? You put on the Quick D and look what happens. You get the bug for more power already...but thats another post isnt it?! :)

I like the all white boxers a friend of mine has a 4 year old she is 65 lbs and just beautiful. My monster is 6 months and 45 lbs he has alot of growing left in him. I think he will be 75 to 80 lbs. He was the runt of the litter as well. He is Flashy fawn and so cool. I have found a lot of boxer owners since I have gotten mine. I didn't think they were that popular.

We left his floppy. There are only 2 people in seattle that do it well and it costs like 400 dollars. He looks better floppy but I like them both ways.

I agree, i think the floppy looks good. The cropped ones look a little better as I ahve seent them on police dogs in Germany(never been, just on t.v.). They are pretty stout dogs and would make good protectors.

The breeder I got my puppy from all of her dogs (8) had there ears done. They looked really good. I was told that in Germany they leave thier ears down and they don't crop thier tails they also get up to 115 lbs. I wouldn't get any other kind of dog after having my boxer.

I grew up with a half St Bernard, half German Shephard dog in the family. He was huge, and never lost a fight with another dog. I saw him fight two German Shepards at the same time and wrestled and chased them off down the street! It was great!
He chased lightning all night long, up and down the street, trying to bark at it and fight it. Although he never did catch it...
"Moker" died of cancer @ 11 years old.

I'm looking at getting a Kuvasz sometime in the next year, but it all depends on my parents -- since I live in their house. I also want to get a Gila Monster sometime too, but they are ~1200 dollars -- ouch! Last month I ALMOST got a couple red belly pirana...
I would also love to own a nile monitor some day...but that's a bit extreme.

Lizards don't make the most affectionate of pets. My sister's husband had an iguana that was over 3 feet, it got so that it hated my sister's guts and would snap at her. She refused to feed it after that. I got along great with it however, it took a lot of patience and slow movement to do anything with it, but it would let me pick it up & put it in the bathtub for a swim. It was a mean bast@rd though, really miserable.

2 Irridescent sharks - 6 yrs old
Cat#1 - 2 yrs old
Cat#2 - 1 yr old
Cat#3 - ? yrs old (picked up stray)
Doggie - 6 months Black Lab/Akida/? mix
Had an albino Burmese python once. Grew from 3 ft to over 7 in under a yr and then I had to give it away once my son was about due. I heard it later got to be around 11 ft.

Currently 3 pets. An Alasakan Husky (Brandy, AKA My BabyGirl), Siamese cat (Siam, AKA Slammers), Grey long hair cat (Smokey, AKA Smokers). All 3 think they are human. Brandy gets to go with me almost everywhere in my 01 CC 4x4, Leer shell with a nicely padded carpet kit in back. She loves it, but also likes to climb through the windows to be with me in the cab. Use to have 2 Iguanas and 2 birds also. They also were spoiled. 1 iguana, 6 ft. long, liked to be held like a baby, cradled in my arms, and watch TV with me. Just put my sheep dog to sleep about 2 months ago. He was 13 yrs old and suffering from cancer. He was Barney, AKA My Buddy Boy Barney. He also loved to go everywhere with me in my Dak.
