I have a '01 4.7L 4X4 extended cab with 17,000. I took my vehicle in last week to have the dealership look at and fix a engine knock that I have. The mechanic tryed to flash the PCM, but wouldn't take. He then flashed it with a fix for a "misc indicator light". My Dak was manufactured in Sep 00 and the mechanic said that this has something to do with the non-exceptance of the flash upgrade.
Is anyone aware of a TSB or orther fixes for this problem. Thanks..

I've heard people talk about the timing chain making this noise. Mine had a ping but the dealer flashed the PCM and it went away.

This engine ping happens during excelleration. I've tryed differant types of gas, but it does'nt seem to help.
